Nylon CAT tourniquet is characterized by its ease of use and portability. It can be directly tied to the outside of a sleeve without coming into contact with the skin. The CAT tourniquet is secured using a nylon self-adhesive strap, which is then tightened by rotating a spindle to achieve complete hemostasis. If one tourniquet is unable to effectively stop bleeding, a second tourniquet can be applied on top of it to achieve complete hemostasis.

Nylon CAT tourniquets are widely used on the battlefield. Combat injuries primarily include gunshot wounds and blast injuries. Analysis and research on a large number of preventable deaths have shown that these severe injuries often result in arterial damage to the limbs, accompanied by severe bleeding, which can lead to death.
Nylon CAT tourniquets can serve as a first-line treatment method for uncontrollable limb bleeding in battlefield emergency situations.
(1) In pre-hospital emergency situations, a tourniquet may be applied directly to the skin without a padding in urgent cases;
(2) When using a tourniquet in a hospital setting, a padding should be placed to protect the skin;
(3) Ensure the area where the tourniquet is applied is fully exposed and monitor blood circulation at the extremities of the limb;
(4) Monitor the patient's blood pressure, oxygen saturation, respiratory rate, local skin temperature, and bleeding status;
(5) Monitor the patient for signs of restlessness, pallor, sweating, rapid and weak pulse, and pain;
(6) For any of the above or other abnormal conditions, assess the tourniquet's hemostatic efficacy and complications, identify the cause, and provide appropriate pain management, fluid replacement, and anti-shock measures.
